From 1921 to 2021, the Communist Party of China has gone through a whole hundred years of history. It is a century written with blood, sweat, tears, courage, wisdom and strength; it is a century of wickerwork, thorns and thorns, hard work, hard work and hard work, full of hardships and wonders; it is a century of making glory out of hardships, rising resolutely after setbacks, reaping success from exploration, setting things right after mistakes, breaking new ground in twists and turns, and winning the future after struggles. The struggle for national independence and people's liberation and the realization of national prosperity and people's happiness are the themes and main lines of the CPC's century-long history; the "history of unremitting struggle," "history of theoretical exploration," and "history of self-construction" are the themes and main lines of the CPC's century-long history. The "history of unremitting struggle," "history of theoretical exploration," and "history of self-construction" are the mainstream and essence of the century-long history of the CPC; the continuous advancement of the cause of revolution, construction, reform, and revival is the distinctive feature of the century-long history of the CPC; the gradual realization of the goal of saving, revitalizing, enriching, and strengthening the country is the solemn mission of the century-long history of the CPC.
The century-long history of the CPC can be divided into four historical periods: from the establishment of the CPC in July 1921 to the founding of the People's Republic of China in October 1949, the period of the New Democratic Revolution; from October 1949 to the convening of the Third Plenary Session of the 11th CPC Central Committee in December 1978, the period of socialist revolution and construction; from December 1978 to the convening of the 18th CPC National Congress in November 2012, the period of reform and opening up. The 18th Party Congress was held, a new period of reform, opening up and socialist modernization; from November 2012 to the present is the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics. In these four historical periods, the CPC has accomplished and promoted four major events. The four major events have forged a century of glory for the CPC.
