I. What is coronavirus?
Coronaviruses are a group of viruses that are widespread in nature and are named after their morphology, which resembles a crown when viewed under electron microscopy. Coronaviruses infect only vertebrates and can cause respiratory, gastrointestinal and neurological diseases in humans and animals.
In addition to the new coronavirus discovered here, six other coronaviruses are known to infect humans. Four of them are more common in the population, less pathogenic, and generally cause only mild respiratory symptoms similar to the common cold: the other two are the well-known SARS coronavirus and MERS Middle East syndrome coronavirus.
However, the new coronavirus discovered this time is very different from SARS coronavirus and MERS coronavirus. Like people, although different viruses are close relatives, they have very different temperaments, attitudes and dealings. Although the new coronavirus is a close relative of SARS, it has not yet shown such terrible characteristics as SARS SARS, therefore, there is no need to panic about it.
II.What are the clinical manifestations of patients with this infection?
First of all, the premise of this disease infection is epidemiological history: the patient has been to Wuhan or Hubei and other areas within 2 weeks, this is very important, for example, if you only live locally in Yutian, even if you get pneumonia, it is not new coronavirus pneumonia, please rest assured of this.
The main clinical manifestations of this disease are fever, malaise, dry cough and other symptoms mainly, and gradually develop respiratory distress, severe manifestations of acute respiratory distress syndrome, septic shock. However, most of the patients are moderate or mild with good prognosis, and only a few patients with poor health, underlying diseases and low immunity are in critical condition or even die.
II. What is a close contact?
Close contacts are those who have one of the following contact situations with the case (suspected and confirmed cases).
Living, studying, working with the case or other close contacts.
Health care workers, family members or other persons who have similar close contact with the case without taking effective protective measures when treating, caring for or visiting the case.
Other patients and companions in the same ward as the case.
Persons who traveled with the case in the same vehicle and had close contact with the case.
On-site investigators after investigation and assessment that the eligible personnel.
IV. Why close contacts to medical observation for 14 days?
The most effective way to intercept infectious diseases is isolation. At present, it is necessary to take more strict medical observation of close contacts and other preventive public health measures, which is a responsible attitude toward public health and safety, and is also a common practice in the international community.
With reference to the incubation period of diseases caused by other coronaviruses, information related to this new coronavirus case and the current prevention and control reality, the period of medical observation for close contacts is set at 14 days, and the close contacts are placed under medical observation at home.
V. If you are notified by the CDC that you are a close contact, what should you do?
According to the requirements, the close contacts to take centralized isolation or home medical observation, medical observation period and the case occurred without effective protection for 14 days after the contact; If it is home medical observation, do not panic, do not go to work, do not just go out, do a good job of self-observation of physical condition, regular follow-up visits by phone or door, if fever, cough and other abnormal clinical manifestations, promptly to the local disease prevention and control agencies If you have any abnormal clinical symptoms such as fever or cough, report to the local disease control agency and go to designated medical institutions for investigation and treatment under their guidance.
VI. What should I pay attention to after returning to my place of residence if I have been to Wuhan recently? If clinical symptoms appear, should I be examined for pneumonia related to novel coronavirus infection?
After returning to your place of residence, you can pay attention to strengthen your body protection and pay attention to your physical status within two weeks.
If early clinical symptoms of acute respiratory infection such as fever (axillary body temperature ≥37.3℃), cough, shortness of breath, etc. appear, please go to designated medical institutions for screening and consultation in a timely manner.
VII. How to prevent respiratory infectious diseases in winter and spring?
We are in the high season of infectious diseases in winter and spring, we should enhance health awareness, strengthen exercise, regular work and rest, and improve our immunity. Pay attention to keep indoor air circulation, avoid going to closed, airless public places and crowded places, and wear a mask if necessary. After returning home, it is important to clean your hands and wash your nose and hands in a timely manner. If you have fever and other respiratory tract infection symptoms, especially if the fever persists, go to the hospital in time.
VIII. How to wear a mask?
Wearing a mask is an effective means of blocking the spread of respiratory secretions. Choosing a medical surgical mask can be a good way to prevent respiratory diseases. Disposable medical masks should be worn with the mouth, nose and jaw completely wrapped, and then press the nose clip to make the mask fit completely with the face. You should wash your hands before wearing the mask, change it regularly, do not wear it in reverse, and do not wear it on both sides in turn.

X. If clinical manifestations appear, does it mean that you are infected? Under what circumstances do I need to seek medical attention?
If there is fever, weakness, dry cough, it does not mean that you have been infected. However, if there are symptoms of acute respiratory infection such as fever (axillary body temperature ≥37.3℃), cough, shortness of breath, etc., and there is a history of travel and residence in Wuhan, or you have been in contact with patients with fever with respiratory symptoms from Wuhan within 14 days before the onset of the disease, or there is a small aggregation of the disease, you should go to a designated medical institution for screening and consultation.
